New Stone Sculptures by Kim S. Warne

We’ve just added a few new sculptures by Kim S. Warne .. might want to consider them for Christmas. I’m particularly taken with the single shy penguin .. as seen in the attached picture. I’m sure someone would love to find him under the Christmas tree.

 

Alternatively, there are a few silhouettes that have been added. Each of the silhouettes is a

sandblasted image of someone or something that celebrates a given activity or hobby. If the ones on the website are not what you are looking for just press the “ask about other art by me” button on Kim’s page and let us know what you are looking for. The possibilities are endless.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Circle of World Friends is another great idea to commemorate a special event in the life of someone you know .. birthday, retirement, accomplishment of a milestone. The symbolism is all about people working together beyond the boundaries of culture to make the world a better place.

Kim S Warne, an accomplished soapstone carver and sculptor, was featured this week as the “Artist-of-the-week” for Fleming College’s Haliburton School of the Arts. The article chronicles his development as a sculptor, illustrating how he overcame the long-held belief that he was not artistic. Very interesting reading:

The story of Kim’s artistic development is an inspiration to anyone who has a desire to be creative but, has been led to believe they have not artistic talent. In addition to being inspiring through this example Kim’s work is an inspiration to others  to grow and develop their craftsmanship.

Kim is very well-known in the artistic community of the Haliburton Highlands. He is a member of the Arts Council~Haliburton Highlands, displays his work as part of the annual Haliburton County Studio Tour and a variety of other venues both online and in galleries.
