About the Artist:
Todd Jeffrey Ellis received an arts diploma from Niagara College in 1970. He has worked extensively in various areas of the arts teaching, directing, set designing, props designing and furniture designing. His love of metalwork took hold when he discovered chasing, repousse, and the moving of metal in 1994. Since that time he has studied at OCAD, George Brown College, Metalwerx, Peter’s Valley, GRS, and the Haliburton School of the Arts. Jeffrey has served on the executive board of the Metal Arts Guild of Canada for seven years. In 2000 he was awarded the “Best Hollowware” award in the Metal Arts Guild’s “Under Glass Exhibition”. In 2007 his work was chosen to be published in Lark book’s “500 Metal Vessels”, and was part of the Ontario Craft Council’s juried exhibition “Ontario Craft’07.
