All of the art on this website has been created by one of the many fine artists located in the Canadian Artistic Community of the Haliburton Highlands. The website represents visual artists in a variety of media including painting, pottery, fibre art, sculpture and metal art. It also represents the performing, literary and media arts through the offering of books, cds and dvds created by or about artists with an affiliation to the Haliburton Highlands.
Note that what is on the website is only the "tip of the iceberg". Each artist has many more items and we encourage you to click the "ask about other art by me" button on each artists page (access by pressing our artists button at top of website and then selecting the artist you wish to view).
All artists displaying their work on this website have been juried by a committee of the Arts Council of the Haliburton Highlands to ensure that there is a high quality of work while not limiting the scope of work too aggressively. Here at MadeInHaliburton.ca we believe that art is at least in part in the eye of the beholder. Thus, in addition to our jurying process we enable the purchaser to evaluate the quality of the artist’s work by openly and honestly providing the artists’ credentials along with high quality photographic images that allow the purchaser to examine the work in detail before making a decision to purchase. We also guarantee that if you are dissatisfied with the art when you receive it that it can be returned within the 7 day return period in accordance with the return policy.
MadeinHaliburton.ca is a business owned and operated by Don & Marie Gage. Startup costs of the business were partially covered by a grant from the Province of Ontario's Ministry of Tourism and Culture's Cultural Strategic Investment Fund (CSIF). The Arts Council-Haliburton Highlands, The Art Hive Maple Lake Artists Collective and RightEyedDeer Press received funding from this grant to assist in marketing the business. A committee of the Arts Council~Haliburton Highlands was responsible for steering the process of development and will continue to provide assistance with the jurying process of applicants.
